How guides are researched, how often they are reviewed, and how corrections are handled.
Why this site exists
Pakistani vehicle paperwork is explained in circulars, in Urdu, at a counter, or not at all. Most people learn the process by getting it wrong once. VehicleInfoPk exists to write the same information down, in plain English, in the order the steps actually happen.
How a guide is researched
- Start from the department. A guide begins with how the relevant excise and taxation department, registration authority or traffic police body describes the process.
- Write the order, not the menu. Guides follow the sequence a person actually experiences: what to gather, where to go, what is checked, what you walk away with.
- Name the provincial differences. Where Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan or the Islamabad Capital Territory handle a step differently, the guide says so rather than presenting one province's process as universal.
- Point to the official step. Every guide ends by sending the reader to the government portal or office that completes the transaction.
Fees and figures
We do not publish fee tables as settled fact. Rates, challan amounts and exemption categories change, and a number that was right last year is worse than useless if a reader relies on it. Instead guides explain how a charge is put together and where to read the current schedule. Where a guide needs to illustrate an amount, it is labelled as illustrative and dated.
Independence
VehicleInfoPk has no connection to any government department, and takes no payment to describe a process in a particular way. No guide is written, shaped or removed because of an advertiser, an agent or a broker. External links point to official government portals, and only to those.
Boundaries we do not cross
- No guide explains how to skip a tax, a fee, a transfer or an inspection.
- No guide helps someone register, transfer or claim a vehicle they do not own.
- No guide links to an unofficial agent, a paid shortcut, or any third-party installer.
- No page asks for a CNIC, chassis number or vehicle number, because we hold no records to check them against.
Review and corrections
Guides carry a published date and a reviewed date. A guide is reopened when a department changes a procedure, when a reader reports a step that no longer matches, or when a linked portal address moves. Corrections are made in place, and a material correction is noted on the page.
Report a problem
The most useful email we receive is a short one that names a page and says what the department actually asked for. Send it via the contact page; we aim to reply within two business days.
